Maths is a discipline where at its core, a scholar should get the good sense and distinct set of a formulas. If these particular sets up are simply defined, then a student only has to get a command and exercise of the matter by preforming the common examples. Being the result of diligent work and constructing upon a solid basis, a bigger value should be expected beyond any hesitation.
Finding the right "handle"
Whenever a student is really having a hard time, I seek the good "handle" to apply to let the scholar to perceive the process. Due to my experience from an extensive lifework where I had a teaching duty, though except education, I can show the value of numeracy, and of the importance to develop a child's confidence. I firmly feel the art to coming to be strong at or good in maths is in the teaching; it is not the child's fault if the teaching is miserable and/or doesn't unlock the brain and help them "understand", enjoy it and also get more confident at it.
The key to success
I believe that a child will not study whenever they are not motivated and engaged, and a particular good prime mover for children is the relationship between the tutor and the student. A supportive attitude, and an atmosphere within which the relationship between student and tutor can grow and enhance open communication, so the student is not hesitant to address zones of weakness and misunderstanding, will be served. I strive to set up a supportive and trusting partnership with each and every scholar I teach, so that they also can understand the unique information within the environment that science and maths bring me.
I can easily tutor children at any grade of maths. I feel that my great strength is actually to meet the particular student at the level they already are, and stimulate them further. I strongly believe that nothing is more important for great results that the student's self-esteem. This is my goal - to help children believe in themselves with mathematics and sail through. Several details cheer me more compared to when a student experiences it and their self-esteem flourishes.
